FSR Upscaling 4.1.0 and Nioh 3

If you were using OptiScaler alongside Nioh 3 to add FSR 4 support, I can now say that with the release of FSR Upscaling 4.1 the implementation is now strictly better than FSR 4.0.3 and below, and is a viable option above FSR 3.1.

As Nioh 3 uses a version of FSR 3.1 that’s inside the game itself, we need to use OptiScaler in order to convert XeSS inputs into FSR. When the game initially launched, FSR 4.0.3 was the latest upscaling version available, and many YouTubers covered how to use OptiScaler in the game. I also tried it out for myself, but noticed something that all other YouTubers noticed, the incessant exposure flickering in the game.

If you were to use FSR 4.0.3 via the mod and returned back to the “Continue” option in the main menu which shows your character, there was an intense amount of exposure flickering. You can tell this was occurring as the background fog effects would increase in luminance, and the metal elements of the armour would pulsate the light source it is reflecting. In game, this would manifest whenever the camera moves between darker and lighter areas. The entire environment would sort of flicker and it almost looks like the entire image was being “refreshed” constantly. I can say that this seems to be mostly/fully resolved with FSR Upscaling 4.1.0
